South America and Patagonia in particular has held a certain allure for both of us. We have been to Peru twice.

This year we returned to Chile to drive along the Carretera Austral, considered to be one of the most scenic roads in the world.

This blog is intended for family and friends and anyone who may be planning an Austral journey. This is meant to be a digital log of our trip, experiences and reflections.

It is also for Siddharth our grandson. He calls us Pacha and Machi (Shortened versions of Appachan and Ammachi) – Grandpa and Grandma. Hence the PachaMachi Blog.
